The Brickhouse Gym is a new co-ed gym on Corydon offering personal training services. The owner wanted a logo that was modern and very strong, but not so strong that it would scare off potential female clients. The solution uses a modified version of neutraface with a few embellishments, including a speckle pattern that is reminiscent of small pits on the surface of bricks.
Axiom grew from a summer only, cottage specific handy man company, to a leader in the construction industry. The client came to me with an existing logo that had a decent concept, but lacked some of the finer details of design. Under ideal circumstances, the logo would have been taken back to the drawing board to find the perfect solution, but it had already been used in materials like embroidered work shirts, truck decals, and the like. So if the logo was going to receive a facelift, it would have to be subtle.
I made small adjustments to the alignment of the elements and replaced the font with a cleaner slab serif. All the letters remain in their original positions.
Pourtec is a local concrete pouring business, and a partner company of Axiom. Started from scratch The foot of the R subducts the TEC to represent a concrete foundation, one of this company's specialties.
This logo was completed as a class design competition. All students completed a logo, and the client ultimately choose this logo as their new identity.

With a little thought, you can probably figure out where my new identity got its name...
A logo created for a fictional brewery. The lower curves of the two R's give a feeling of rolling water, and the barley graphic in the back re-inforces that it is a brewery.
The use of engraved type is reminiscent of hanging wooden signs, and the choice of the colours green and orange add a youthful tone to better fit the target market.
This was my former identity. The type is hand rendered.
The Gas Station Theatre in Winnipeg has been somewhat of an icon at River & Ozborne, but its identity has definately stagnated. My class worked with the GST and each of us submitted potential identities. Ultimately, the client chose not to accept ANY of the submissions. Unfortunate.

This project was one component of an larger campaign. I decided to pair up an uncool product like freestyle yoyos with a cool brand like DC Shoes. The campaign is intended to bring YoYo's back into fashion, targeting the 10-16 market.
This was an exercise in vector illustration. I used a high contrast image, and attempted to use as few divisions in value as possible, (white, black, and only three shades of blue). When the piece was completed, I felt it was a little too flat, so I added a subtle glow to the top white layer.

The goal was to take a collection of reference photo's of the interior/exterior of my college's campus, and then arrange elements of those photos into an original composition. Additionally, we were limited to black, white, and 3 shades of grey.
