Lettering by Hand

Let me start by saying this page is a bit of a mess.

Lettering is a hobby of mine. I've been trying to teach myself a little about blackletter, copperplate, spencerian, and brush letting techniques. Through my practice, I have developed a strong appreciation for the fonts many of us take for granted.

Most of my work in lettering is just experimental and never becomes a final product, but I continue to teach myself when i can find the time. I often try to duplicate existing fonts or logotypes, (and those that are the ideas of others like the good folks at House Industries, are credited as such as my reference material.) I hope that when an opportunity arises to use hand rendered type, I will be proficcient enough at these styles to use them in my work. Below are just a few examples.
